Skills and Employability Made in Germany

Project Overview

Under the headline "Employability (made) in Germany," the larger project aims to showcase Germany as one of the world’s leading countries in the fields of university-industry collaborations, dual-study programs, apprenticeships, and educational concepts of applied teaching and research. UAS7 would also like to strengthen already existing transatlantic university-company partnerships and establish new ones while offering sustainable internship and work opportunities to excellent engineering and business students from both sides of the Atlantic.

For “The Year of German-American Friendship” or “Deutschlandjahr 2018/19”, the UAS7 alliance of seven German Universities of Applied Sciences will take its unique expertise in applied science education to universities across the american heartland. UAS7 will offer dynamic expert panels followed by an informal networking reception. The events will provide information on career paths at German companies in the respective state and neighboring states, as well as for study, intern, research and work opportunities in Germany for US students, researchers and alumni.

Speakers for the panel discussions will inlcude:

  • a representative from a U.S.-based (German) industry/company

  • an expert from the UAS7 alliance

  • a representative from the respective university

  • a current student, recent graduate or alumni who has studied or interned in Germany or is currently working at a US-based German company

  • possibly a representative from a German Consulate or the German American Chamber of Commerce
