UAS7 partnerships with major universities in the U.S. (Drexel University, the University of New Orleans, and the University of Pittsburgh) allow us to offer a broad range of opportunities to our partners and our students. Collaboration with UAS7 as a consortium magnifies opportunities for student and faculty exchange, research collaboration, and summer schools as well as thematic projects that draw on our complementary strengths in applied teaching and research and the strength of our connections to our and our partners' regions.
In September 2011, UAS7 concluded a Memorandum of Understanding with the State University of New York (SUNY), and we look forward to establishing specific agreements with individual SUNY campuses.
UAS7 also cooperates closely with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). We are also pleased to collaborate with other institutions in the German House New York, including the German Center for Research and Innovation.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the major German national agency for the support of international academic cooperation. DAAD offers funding for students, faculty, researchers and others in higher education. The agency also represents the German higher education system abroad, promotes Germany as an academic and research destination, and helps build ties between institutions around the world.
The GCRI New York was opened on February 19, 2010, by the Federal Minister of Research and Education, Prof. Dr. Annette Schavan, and the German Ambassador to the United States, Dr. Klaus Scharioth. It was established as one of five German Houses of Science and Innovation (DWIHs) worldwide and is part of the German government's Strategy for the Internationalization of Science and Research.
